3 things:
My computer and tv are flat and all in ones. There isn’t a fan that blows all the time like older models – ow this ok?

2 – Are we saying we are removing the objects bc we need to not be exposed to heal or bc it will make the new clean place just as toxic as the former? I cannot see anything in my condo for mold i am just ill in multiple ways and working with a functional doctor.

3- Can i borax my shoes? Shoes are hard to replace.

4- Electric guitars and amps – dump the fabric covers and vacuum/wipe the outsides?

5- My new IQAir filter I got maybe three months ago – this goes back to my original concern – change the filters, vacuum and wipe down? Are we chucking this away for the body’s sake or are we chucking it bc it will ruin a clean emvironment in a catastrophic way???

I need stark clarity on what we mean by cross contaminate and the threshold of bringing non porous objects cleaned into the new home like my beloved $800 air filter. Thanks!!!

Throw the disposable wipes in the garbage – being careful to avoid cross-contamination of your clothes.

An air conditioner or purifier can also cause contamination when brought into a clean environment.

I was very sick and very lucky that my sisters packed up my house, hepa vac’d, and wiped down as much as they could before boxing up. Then had the remediation done by professionals removing walls etc. I still have boxes of photo’s and papers I haven’t opened since 2012. I did have to move a lot during that year and at times had to have my cat stay with others. Each time I brought her back to me I had her get a really excellent double bath with non-toxic, non-fragranced shampoo. I seemed to do fine with that. I totally understand wanting to be as careful as possible regarding cross contamination and shaving is excellent concept. Thinking back, my cat loved to be vacuumed! So that helped too. Much success to all.

My wife and I want to remove some mold in our bathroom. We’ll hire a mold removal service that can do it effectively.

Shannon, we did ask a German contact and unfortunately we don’t have specific recommendations for environmental specialists in your region. They mentioned that in some larger German cities, mostly at hospitals, there are some environmental outpatient clinics, but that their services are usually not covered by health insurance.

We suggest contacting the indoor environmental professionals listed on the iseai.org Get Help page, as many do consult (virtually) with clients around the globe, especially with those who have limited resources, and try and educate and guide them on how to identify issues, including some DIY sampling. From there, it is not uncommon to need to get creative and find ways to address “problems” that may be identified during the process.

We did also look on the ACAC.org site but we didn’t see anyone listed in your area (this is just one search field and there may very likely be other inspectors in the area that just don’t carry these particular certifications – you could perhaps also search for “mold inspectors” nearby you on Google Maps).

We hope this helps. If you have any other questions, please reach out to info@iseai.org.

I am not sure how to contact a specialist here for this kind of testing in our home.
Assistance in this matter would be appreciated! I have many, many symptoms of mold toxicity. Just now working on getting my candida taken care of as well as copper toxicity.
